DIABETES

A- Overt diabetes (At first prenatal visit)

  • Fasting plasma glucose ≥126 mg/dL, or
  • A1C ≥6.5, or
  • Random plasma glucose ≥200 mg/dL subsequently confirmed by elevated fasting plasma glucose or A1C, as above

B – Gestational diabetes

  • Fasting plasma glucose ≥92 mg/dL at any gestational age (≥126 mg/dL = overt diabetes)
  • At 24 to 28 weeks of gestation: 50 gram oral glucose challenge | after 1h:
    ≥130 (better sensitivity) or ≥140 mg/dL = elevated
    ↘ 100g 3hr oral GTT for definitive dx – Glucose checked fasting/1h/2h/3h: +if 2/4
    values high
